Questions and answers
How do I share a link?
Create a link on the Links page, then choose Copy link and paste it into an email, a chat or a post. On a phone, Share opens your phone’s share menu.
For print (flyers, posters, cards), download the QR code as SVG or PNG. Anyone who scans it opens your link, and the scan is counted as a click.
What is the difference between a short link and an own address?
A short link shares one address with your other short links and ends with its own name, like go.example.workers.dev/spring. You can make as many as you like.
An own address gets a web address of its own, like spring-x7k2p.example.workers.dev. Accounts can hold only a limited number of them. Both count every click the same way.
Why does my link say “Getting ready”?
A new link is set up on Cloudflare or Vercel first. That usually takes under a minute. The page updates by itself when the link is live, so you can keep working.
If it says Problem, choose Try again next to it. If that keeps failing, tell your administrator what the message says.
What are bots, and why are they not counted?
When you paste a link into a chat app or social network, it often opens the link itself to show a preview. Search engines and other automated programs visit links too. These visits are not people, so they are left out of your numbers.
In Analytics, turn on Include bots to see them as well.
Can I change where a link goes after I shared it?
Yes. On the Links page, choose the pencil button (Edit) next to the link and enter the new website. The link itself stays the same, so printed QR codes keep working. To change many links at once, use Change where links go.
Why can’t I use some websites?
Your administrator decides which websites your links may open. You can see the list under Settings → Approved websites. Ask your administrator to add a website you need.
What happens when I delete a link?
The link stops working, but its past clicks stay in your analytics. For a few seconds you can undo it. To remove the click history as well, filter the list by Deleted and choose Delete for good.
Is my visitors’ privacy protected?
Clicks are counted on this server. Visitor IP addresses are never stored. Countries and cities are approximate and come from the visitor’s network.
Need more help?
Ask your administrator (the person who invited you). They can approve new websites, raise your limits and send you a new password link.
